Kelly brings a decade of diverse world language education experience to her current role in educational content development. Drawing from her background as a former French instructor at both secondary and university levels and her ACTFL OPI certification, she has deep knowledge of proficiency-appropriate text types across different language levels. Her expertise in language proficiency assessment, further developed through her work as an AP French exam reader, informs her approach to creating instructional materials. With additional training in various world language teaching methodologies, Kelly is passionate about developing resources that help educators align their instruction with students’ proficiency levels to enhance learning outcomes.

Description

In this session, we will practice mapping language levels onto student output to better understand each level. We’ll examine output text types (written or spoken language) and set realistic expectations for our students based on our observations of their work. You’ll leave this session better equipped to recognize and teach the student in front of you.
